Wirecast is a live video streaming and production tool by Telestream. It allows users to create live or on-demand broadcasts for the web or other source.

Wirecast software and hardware acts as a video switcher, controlling real-time switching between multiple live video sources while dynamically mixing in other source media such as video, music, audio, and slides to create professional broadcast productions for live recording or distribution.

Wirecast can be purchased as a hardware unit as the Wirecast Gear 310, 320, or 420. These units are built around a two rack space frame on a windows platform with all the necessary physical connections, preloaded with wirecast software. These units come with either HDMI or SDI inputs, and feature NDI capability for modern video networks. Wirecast is also available as software for both Windows and Mac platforms.

Wirecast has a slew of helpful production features built-in, including: Rendezvous (an HD video calling system), Chroma Keying, Scene Transitions, H.264 Streaming & Recording to multiple locations, Lower 3rd titles, and more.
